SWING unique offers a flexible and dynamic program of single-work exhibitions, visible day and night through its glass window. The program starts presenting a project by the designer and artist Alissa Volchkova.

Alissa Volchkova
Alissa Volchkova is a Franco-Russian designer and artist working between Paris and London. After several years of experience in architecture, she changed the scale of her projects to produce objects. Her work explores various processes of production in a poetic way, revealing their uniqueness, and developing the potential of surrounding materials by pushing their limits – which changes our preconceptions about them and our surrounding environment.

VOLCANOS
“ I am revisiting the industrial and repetitive methods of production, to paradoxically create irregular and unpredictable objects. Indeed, these series of vases are made of 2 parts: the first part – the base – is blown into a mould. The second part is the continuity of the mould – an excess of glass formed randomly, and that is usually removed (cut) in glass blowing, considered as a defect. I am keeping and taking advantage of this  ‘defect’ by playing with it, exaggerating it, to create a variation of vases that will never be identical. “
